With the EC50 Zebra offers unbelievably slim Android mobile computer in a compact smartphone design. It especially simplifies the work day in the demanding areas of retail and hospitality with its comprehensive functions, but in the healthcare industry as well. Among others, this includes the popular, user-friendly Android operating system. Since most users already are familiar with Android with their own smartphone, this enormously shortens the training period and familiarisation phase. What makes the EC50 stand out is its unbelievably slim, light design in a smartphone look. The footprint is a mere 154.4 x 76 x 9.8 mm (L x W x D) and it weighs just 173 grams. So you not only comfortably carry it with you all day, you also easily store it in your trouser or coat pocket.

In an age where everyone is reachable all the time, an extremely good, quick and reliable wireless connection is key as a standard feature, especially with the EC50. It impresses with Wi-Fi connections in »corded quality«. To do this, it combines 2x2 MU-MIMO, WorryFree Wi-Fi and Workforce Connect PTT Express – ensuring for an almost immediate reaction, making the mobile computer fit for complex telephoning applications.

Via Bluetooth and NFC you simply need to tip with your finger to have the EC50 read an ID card or pair with a printer. Also, Bluetooth 5.0 increases the performance of connected peripheral devices, since it offers a significantly higher speed at extended ranges.

In addition to the particularly powerful and advanced SD660 octa-core processor, the EC50 also convinces with reliable voice and data application. The large memory provides plenty of space for storing all types of data and is made up of 3 GB RAM and 32 GB flash. Optionally expand both to 4 GB RAM and 64 GB flash.

The mobile computer comes standard with a powerful 3,060 mAh battery. When fully charged, it provides up to 10 hours of power. Depending on the need, a more powerful battery with 4,180 mAh is available. This gives it operational readiness of up to 13 hours when fully charged – perfect for long work days.

For capturing all common 1D and 2D barcodes the EC50 is equipped with an optional omni-directional 2D scanner. Thanks to the SE4100 scan module, it excites with quick, reliable scanning results. The 13 megapixel colour camera with LED flash and auto-focus on the rear of the mobile computer simplifies the capture of detailed photos and video for documenting proof of delivery, return receipts and more. On the front there is an optional 5 megapixel camera with fixed focus.

The large 5'' HD display of the EC50 offers plenty of space for information and, thanks to its 450 nits, is also readable in poor lighting conditions. Its capacitive multi-touch support makes surface handling very easy and intuitive. Another big advantage: the touch panel and scan window are nearly completely water- and dust-proof, thanks to the integrated Corning Gorilla Glass. This makes it particularly scratch- and impact-resistant; with the optional protective cover it receives even greater protection.

With its durable housing the EC50 is well equipped against the elements in daily usage. It feature IP67 certification, meaning the mobile computer is entirely protected against dust, and even short immersions in water are no problem. Also, it features MIL-STD-810G certification and, with the optional protective cover, it withstands multiple impacts from up to 1.5 m. Temperature ranges between -10 and 50 °C during operation and storage temperatures of -40 to 70 °C are no challenge for it.

For even more possibilities and enhanced performance, the mobile computer accesses the tools of Zebra »Mobility DNA«. This includes »DataWedge« for capturing and automatically formatting barcodes, photos and NFC data, »StageNow« for discontinuing and configuring hundreds of devices simultaneously, »Device Diagnostics« for self-testing if the mobile computer needs repair, and much more. The EC50 comes standard with »LifeGuard for Android« installed for more security options.
