Impinj R700 RAIN RFID Reader

The Impinj R700 RAIN RFID Reader is designed to support global enterprise RAIN deployments that need high performance and reliability. The Impinj R700 reader delivers industry-leading performance, enterprise reliability and security, and modern developer tools. IoT developers can easily build and deploy custom enterprise applications with a Linux OS, REST API, and native support for industry-standard data formats and protocols, such as MQTT. The Impinj R700 delivers increased support for on-reader applications – including 10x the processing power. Plus, when combined with tags based on Impinj M700 series tag chips, the Impinj R700 advances RAIN RFID performance at dock doors, conveyors, and store exits.

Impinj xArray Gateway RFID Reader

The Impinj xArray is a fixed infrastructure RFID gateway that integrates a RFID reader with antennas to provide always-on, wide-area monitoring for real-time identification, location, and direction of RFID tagged items. The xArray provides wide area monitoring through its beam-forming antenna array, which delivers full power throughout a 40 foot diameter when ceiling-mounted at 15 feet high. The xArray can distinguish 52 different antenna beams providing for location assignment within the read zone, and the antennas radiate a linear pattern in both the horizontal and vertical paths in order to read tags in any orientation. The reader itself is optimized to read many thousands of tags very quickly, and to distinguish tags of interest from the rest of the field. This device can be configured to handle both wide area monitoring scenarios and portal applications. Moreover, Impinj has added robust tag direction capability that has been proven accurate even in difficult, real world environments.

Both cost-effective and easy to deploy, the xArray system’s slim profile was designed to mount easily into a single tile of a standard drop ceiling, where it is unobtrusive and able to blend into any décor. The xArray includes a tilt sensor, hysteresis feedback, and programmable beacon to alert users when the system or environment may need attention. The xArray draws minimal power (which keeps costs low) and runs from standard PoE (IEEE 802.3af), so there is no need to hire an expensive electrician for installation. Furthermore, the xArray is programmed using industry-standard LLRP and Impinj extensions, for maximum re-use of code and minimum delays due to learning curve with new APIs.

The new FX7500 Fixed RFID Reader introduces advanced Zebra-designed RFID radio technology for faster, more accurate read rates and more consistent performance even in challenging environments. The new radio is paired with a more flexible Linux-based network architecture that integrates the tools and open-standard interfaces needed for fast, easy deployment with RFID and back-end applications. The result is a fixed RFID reader that sets a new performance standard — delivering peak performance at all times with excellent reader sensitivity and better interference rejection, at a lower cost per read point. The FX7500 is available with an internal USB Host USB port which supports a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth dongle for direct wireless connectivity to your Wi-Fi network, as well as Bluetooth-enabled computers and other devices. There’s no need for hard-wired connections to the access point. Zebra also offers a FX7500 reader configuration that excludes the non-critical, internal Host USB port. This configuration offers the same features and functionality but requires an external passive or powered USB hub to connect to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi dongles to enable wireless communications and perform firmware updates instead of plugging a USB stick/dongle directly into the reader’s USB port.

The user-friendly Alien RFID Gateway software enables the user to begin solution development immediately. Low System Cost The cost of installing AC power can sometimes rival the cost of the reader. The ALR-9680’s POE capability allows power to be delivered over properly-equipped local area networks, eliminating expensive AC wiring installation.
