    The SMARTRAC MIDAS FLAGTAG® is a great low cost alternative to on-metal tags with a foam structure. The MIDAS FLAGTAG® is designed for item-level tagging on diverse surfaces, especially metallic surfaces like foil packaging, and offers excellent performance in less demanding physical environments. When compared to other foam-based inlays and hard tags designed for use in tougher environmental conditions, the MIDAS FLAGTAG® is an ideal on-metal solution for product or part authentication, supply chain, and asset management. Furthermore, these tags can also be used on plastic and cardboard surfaces and works well as a standard tag.

    The MIDAS FLAGTAG® is equipped with an innovative small form factor with a total size of 60 x 21 mm when used as a standard flat paper tag. Its special feature is that a flag can be created at the end of tag with a final paper tag size of 43 x 21 mm after folding, and with an exposed flag size of 17 x 21 mm. The folded part of the tag sticks out of the metal like a flag, and the attached antenna part uses the metal surface as part of the antenna structure to increase the performance of the tag. These tags are equipped with the Impinj Monza R6-P IC that features an Autotune function, which helps each MIDAS FLAGTAG® to work at peak efficiency, even in rapidly changing environments.     SMARTRAC has complemented its passive sensor inlay & tag offering with a new, state-of-the-art sensor inlay for automotive industry applications in car manufacturing lines. It is designed to measure moisture condition changes within a car body, to detect any water ingress into the vehicle during fi nal quality control checks.

    The SMARTRAC SENSOR TADPOLE is a passive UHF inlay equipped with RFMicron’s Magnus®S2 Integrated Circuit (IC). This RFID sensor inlay offers excellent, stable performance on any diffi cult surface material, and is able to accurately pinpoint the location of water leakage inside the car body. The customized antenna design acts as a resistor/inductor/capacitor (RLC) tuned circuit to enable an antenna to sense its environment. The tag’s antenna converts environmental data into an impedance change, and then the sensor tag IC translates this into a sensor code, as it dynamically matches antenna impedance to die impedance.

    Optionally, the antenna can be extended with a paper tail to recognize small water quantities from a wider area where RF signals cannot easily penetrate. The paper tail absorbs water and transfers moisture level information via capillary action to the tag.

    This advanced SENSOR TADPOLE is a small and thin UHF tag that offers cost effi ciency, is easy to implement, and works on diffi cult surfaces, like metal parts in the chassis. Delivery format is as a singulated wet inlay with the option of two different tail lengths. It can be delivered with TID list and sensor code values for increased accuracy and complementary data analysis, in conjunction with the SMART COSMOS Cloud Services platform.
